With the new movie out in theaters I needed to catch up on the last season before airings stop. With only 8 episodes it made it easy to binge in two afternoons.
The arc doesn’t have much going for it till the final episodes. While all of the demons have disappeared, the Hashira decide to lead trainings for the demon slayer corps to get stronger. Tanjiro travels to these different sessions and then moves on after mastering each one. There’s not a whole lot going on and while I don’t mind a slower pace, it just wasn’t engaging for me. We do get to see a bit more of the Hashira’s personalities, but we never stay long with one.
The last episode was epic and got me excited again. The trap setup by the master was big brain and not even Muzan anticipated something so ruthless. The animation in this show is stellar and they turned it up to 11 when the mansion blew up. I’m excited to see the movie and how the demon slayers deal with being inside the infinity castle.
