Siphon Coffee

If you could siphon coffee right into your veins would you? For me, coffee is a ritual that’s meant to be enjoyed and savored. If for some reason I could only inject it, then I’m out (after trying once of course) (if I love it then I’m back in)

Siphon was popping on a Saturday morning and I can see why. It feels like the place to be with almost every table inside taken. One of the unique things I noticed on the menu is that they have a barista choice option. I basically just told them I wanted an espresso drink with medium to light sweetness and the rest was in their hands. For food I did the trust the Alex’s stomach option and got a breakfast sandy.

The barista stand was surrounded with people waiting and I never ended up asking what my drink was, so I can only go completely off of taste and feel. It can be summed up as a nutty, herbaceous, and caramel latte. It had a pleasant subtle tone with the flavors and kept me wanting more. Here’s the thing though, it came out lukewarm and I really wanted it hotter to start. I’m not sure how that happened, but it did lower my enjoyment as it initially felt like a drink usually does after sitting 20-30 minutes.

Now for the sandy. If you’re hoping for a better picture then I have bad news for you. I didn’t take one. You may be asking “Alex, how did you not get the name of your drink AND not take a solo shot of the sandwich??!” Well, I was with the fellas and hungry and that’s all that really mattered in the moment. Future review be damned.

Anyways, it was fire. The potato bread is incredibly soft while supporting the innards of the hot and fresh eggs, sausage, and cheese.  The aioli is one of the most flavorful ones I’ve had and had me wanting to request a bottle. They put a lot of love into this item and it shows. I just wish my coffee was hotter.
