Another Japanese snack review! My manager also brought these from her trip and they are reminiscent of a matcha macaroon. It’s a matcha shell with matcha filling and jam in the middle.
Let’s go inside out. The jam is strawberry and tastes just like it. It works well to break through the earthy matcha cream in the middle that’s matcha to the core. These components are awesome and make for a delicious treat. Unfortunately, the outer shell wasn’t my favorite. To me it tastes like they were indecisive on what they wanted this to be and thus it was bland with a texture between soft and crunchy. Despite this, I would have totally gotten another if I wanted to be unfair and not let me other coworkers have a chance.
